The first independent race of the season was run on Mt Jefferson by North Carolina Downhill. NCDH has been putting on a nice little race on Mt Jefferson for a few years. For the first time in 2017 they invited the street lugers to join them.

The 2017 IDF Asian Tour was decimated. First the New Zealand race was lost due to a change in the board of the company that controlled the road. Later the first World Cup in China was lost because the original road was being repaved, and a good enough replacement couldn’t be found in time. This left the Asian Circuit with one World Cup and two Qualifiers. Keeping it High, a race in the Philippines was just held, with the last even in the circuit in South Korea in two weeks.
